How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for the purpose of arranging and undertaking Clinical Canine Massage appointments for your dog, and contacting you following appointments to enquire about your dog’s progress and outcome. You personal data may be obtained from conversations with you (in person or over the phone), the enquiry form on our website, and/or emails or paper forms sent from you or your dog’s veterinary practice.

Additionally we may contact you to enquire if you would be willing to provide a testimonial describing your dog’s treatment and outcome, and for consent to use your name and testimonial on the Pentland Canine Massage website. Provision of a testimonial is voluntary, agreement is entirely at your discretion, and consent can be withdrawn at any time by contacting us using the details above.

We may also occasionally send marketing and promotional communications, and request feedback.

We use the information that you have given us in order to contact you, using your phone number, email address and/or postal address as necessary.

We may share this information with your Veterinary Surgeon, for the purpose of providing them with a written report of findings following your dog’s initial course of treatments. Your data will not be shared with any other third parties.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful basis we rely on for processing this information is your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting us using the details above.

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored. Paper records of booking requests, owner consent and veterinary approval forms, consultation forms and veterinary report letters are kept in a locked filing cabinet.

Our website is hosted by Squarespace, who comply with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. Any information that you supply to us may be stored and processed by their servers located in the US. However, we cannot guarantee that the internet itself is 100% secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from Pentland Canine Massage, via our website and/or email address, is at your own risk. You should only access the services within a secure environment.

We keep your name, address, phone number, mobile number and/or email address for the duration of your dog’s initial course of treatments, subsequent period of maintenance appointments, and/or for two years following your last appointment, if no contact has been made by you during this time. We will then dispose your information by shredding all paper records and deleting all emails.
